Week 8

This week, i've worked on creating a basic bogie design. This won't be the main bogie that we are going to use in in our design but it is another bogie to present. (Contingencies)

There is a website that I've found that is related to PRT, personal rapid transportation. This guy has been working on PRT and developing his own bogie for the past decade. His blog talks about the possibilities of PRT and its importance of the future. Looking through his blog may help our development in our bogie.

This other website sells cheap BLDC motors in which we can actually use for Maker Faire. Since we aren't actually using a 15kW motor, theres a 1.5kW motor on this website for only ~$150. Looking at the spec sheets of this website shows Chinese characters therefor it is possible that shipping may take very long. Other websites for cheap BLDC motors include Alibaba and Ebay but shipping may also take a worth while.

Other than that, I've been tasked on finding potential parts for the bogie.

Week 7

I have download the student version of Solidworks and have begun modeling.
Below is the "scaled" bogie that i drew but some changes were made by the other team members. Dimensions were to desired size.
